Privacy Policy
mailself sends what you share to your own inbox. To do that it needs your email address and, for a moment, what you share. This page explains what happens with both.

Questions about privacy: support@mailself.co
In short
- What you share passes through our server only to be sent to your inbox. It is not stored after it is sent.
- Your list of recent links and any saved items stay on your iPhone.
- Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
What the app processes
Your email address and sign-in
You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with your email address and a 6-digit code. We keep your email address so mailself knows where to send what you share. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we receive an Apple relay address instead. Pro lets you add more recipients; we keep those addresses for the same purpose. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
What you share
When you choose mailself in the Share Sheet, the app sends the shared link or content to our server, which sends it as an email to your address. The server holds it for 5 seconds so you can tap Undo, then sends it and does not keep it. If you tap Undo, it is discarded and nothing is sent. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
On your iPhone
The list of links you have sent and items saved while you are offline or out of free sends are stored on your iPhone, inside the app. They are not sent to us except to deliver a saved item to your inbox.
Free sends
The free plan has a monthly number of sends. To apply it, mailself counts your sends.
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought and managed through your Apple Account. Apple tells the app whether Pro is active. We do not receive your name, payment method or billing address from Apple.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, mailself can remind you on your iPhone when a saved item is waiting. These reminders are created on your device.
Analytics
Not decided (O9): whether the app uses analytics or crash reporting, and which service.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase runs our server and database in Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
- Email delivery: provider not decided (O8: Amazon SES, Postmark or Resend). It receives the recipient address and the email content in order to deliver it.
- Apple for Sign in with Apple and for purchases, under Apple’s privacy policy.
- Google for Sign in with Google, under Google’s privacy policy.
We have data processing agreements with these providers where the GDPR requires them. Where a provider processes data outside the EU, this is based on an adequacy decision or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- What you share: not kept after sending; discarded on Undo.
- Your email address and recipients: as long as your account exists.
- Data on your iPhone: until you delete it or the app.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. Your mailself account and its data will be permanently deleted. This can’t be undone. Open (O9): account deletion on the free plan.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to support@mailself.co. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one responsible for us: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (ldi.nrw.de).
This website
This website sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and uses no analytics. When you open a page, our hosting provider Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address and browser in its server logs to deliver the page and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
